Having completed his literary and political science studies before moving on to cinema, Hugo Boris, a graduate of France’s prestigious national film school, the École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière, worked as an assistant director for film and television and directed some ten award winning short films. For his first published story N’oublie pas de montrer ma tête au peuple (Mercure de France, 2003) he won the prestigious “Laureate of young writers award”. His first novel, Le Baiser dans la nuque (Belfond, 2005, Pocket edition, 2007) was awarded the coveted Emmanuel Roblès Prize, hosted by the Académie Goncourt. His latest novel, La Délégation norvégienne, winner of two literary awards, is due to appear in a pocket edition soon.
