Ashley Mendoza has a M.F.A. in directing and screenwriting from Columbia University, School of the Arts, Film Program. While at film school, she worked as a reader at the William Morris Agency. Her thesis film, "Mad About Harry", was a finalist in The Hollywood Film Festival. After graduation, she served as an associate producer and writer on Nick Jr.'s acclaimed preschool show, "Dora the Explorer". Other writing credits for preschool shows include "Higglytown Heroes", "The Care Bears", and "Maryoku Yummy". She just completed work as a staff writer on three seasons of Disney's "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", now the highest rated preschool show. Her script, "Sleeping Minnie", was nominated for Cartoons on the Bay, Pulcinella Awards, in the Educational and Social Program, 2007. Another script, "Goofy the Great!" was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2008. "Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland", her second direct-to-video movie for Disney, will be released later this year.
