Master of Fine Arts
is an highly individualized 2 year program
designed to give students professional preparation for a career in film, television or digital media. This is accomplished through theoretical courses and practical exercises as well as extensive "hands-on-film" work where students have the opportunity to master the technical and aesthetic principles of filmmaking.
The first year consists of courses in the key disciplines of filmmaking as well as hands-on-film exercises and shorts.
In the second year, the emphasis is on the student’s thesis project in the area of their specialization – directing, production, cinematography, screenwriting or editing. Students have additional required courses in their specialization as well as workshops, and one-to-one tutoring. Students also have the possibility, when available, to work on professional productions, as interns.
