The
Bachelor of Fine Arts
with a specialization
in EDITING |
|
 |
 |
is
a 3 year programme
in English which
provides a broad
introduction to
the elements of
filmmaking with
a specialization
in Editing. |
|
 |
 |
The
Editing specialization
within the BFA Filmmaking
curriculum is specifically
designed to give students
professional preparation
for a career as an Editor
in film or electronic
and digital media. This
is accomplished through
theoretical courses and
practical exercises as
well as extensive “hands-on-film”
work where students, cutting
their classmates’
films, will learn and
master the technical and
aesthetic principles of
editing.
|
 |
 |
After
completing the first year
of cross-disciplinary
studies which covers the
fundamentals of filmmaking,
the students start to
specialize in their second
year with editing workshops
and modules with practical
exercises using 35mm,
16mm, and HD as well as
other broadcast media
formats. These workshops
and modules are accompanied
by practical “hands-on-film”
instruction which consists
primarily of working as
an editor on fellow students’
productions. |
 |
 |
The
third and final year
is one of intense specialization
modules and individual
tutoring. However the
emphasis is on the student’s
participation in school
productions, his ability
to work as part of a team,
and the quality of his
contribution to the final
film. |
 |
 |
At
the end of the three year
programme, the
student will have had
experience in practical
problems and assignments
encompassing film, video,
and non-linear editing
including theory, techniques,
and practices in picture
editing and the use of
standard editing equipment.
They will have been encouraged
to have explored traditional,
non-traditional and emerging
media as well as to develop
a personal artistic point
of view. |
