About the courses

EICAR, the only film school in continental Europe
with an English language curriculum,

     offers a three year Bachelor of Fine Arts programme and a two year Master of Fine Arts programme in filmmaking with an emphasis on directing, screenwriting, cinematography and editing.
Additionaly, EICAR offers a one year "Masters Completion option"

EICAR’s English language filmmaking courses

     are designed to train and prepare students to become professionals in the audio-visual industry including feature films, television, documentaries, advertising, music videos, and internet productions. The programmes seek to develop creativity, professionalism, and teamwork through a combination of theoretical courses and hands-on filmmaking. The hands-on-film courses not only give the students the opportunity to master the technical aspects of filmmaking but allow them to develop their personal creativity through creative collaboration and teamwork.

In the first year courses,

     the emphasis is on cross-disciplinary studies where the student is introduced to all the key disciplines of the craft and art of filmmaking, from production design to film music, screenwriting to cinematography, acting to directing, etc.

After the first year,

      students start to specialize through workshops and modules with an emphasis on directing, screenwriting, cinematography and editing. Here, they can develop and nurture their own projects under the close supervision of EICAR’s distinguished faculty, composed of professional filmmakers, chosen not only for their artistic accomplishments, but their talents as inspiring teachers and mentors.
